Fieldwork is where my practice begins: through direct encounters with glaciers, water, shifting landscapes, and the conditions of environmental change. Working in these places allows me to observe slowly and become attentive to details that cannot be fully understood from a distance. Bearing witness in the field does not produce immediate answers, but it engenders a sustained relationship with place—one integral for transforming scholarly knowledge into deeper understanding and ultimately material form.
